Temporary Insanity

As you recall, in a desperate attempt to regain control over my health regimen, I signed up for the Biggest Loser Meal Plan delivery service.  The second my payment processed, I was faced with buyer's remorse.  This plan is crazy expensive compared to just going to the grocery store and picking up some Lean Cuisines or Weight Watchers frozen dinners.  I know the food is supposed to be gourmet, or whatever, but I prefer Spaghetti and Meatballs to this:

This is called Tex-Mex Veggie Burger with Tomatillo Salsa, Escarole and Brown Rice Pilaf.  While escarole is a salad green, it sounds close enough to escargot to turn my stomach.  Also Tex-Mex = cumin, a spice that smells like wet dog to me.  In fact, a number of the recipes depend on cumin or cilantro (my other hated spice) to liven them up.  Since I don't have blood pressure issues, I'm voting to deal with the sodium in the Lean Cuisines.

I didn't cancel in time to avoid the first week, so I will still post my opinions of those meals.  The thing is, in order to stay on a healthy eating plan, I'm going to have to be able to eat what I want in moderation and just deal with the snail's pace weight loss. For now I'm going to rely on healthy frozen dinners interspersed with healthy meals I cook for the family as well as adding side salads and servings of fruit.  It's convenient, cheap, and easy.  I guess I need to incorporate exercise as well.  I do go to the pool a good bit with the kids, but I need a steady source of exercise.  I'm thinking of joining the gym when the kids go back to school in the fall, so maybe I'll start walking/running again.  Damn, this weight loss thing is hard.
